The University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) awarded the DEC Secretary General H.E Hani Al Hamli an Honorary Visiting Professor title at its Research Center for China Enterprise Management and Entrepreneur Supervisor for the role that DEC played over the past three years to strengthen partnerships with various stakeholders and Chinese companies in the way that would enhance the bilateral economic and trade relations between Dubai and China.
This came during a ceremony at the university headquarters in the capital Beijing. The ceremony was attended by the President and members of the faculty in the presence of Dr. Zhao Hong, Professor and Vice Dean of Management School as well as a number of graduate students at the university. Moreover, the university awarded a scholarship to the number of Emiratis students to study for a doctorate and international certifications in a number of disciplines.
On this occasion, the Secretary General spoke to a group of graduate students at UCAS about the concept of "knowledge-based economy," pointing to the possibility of establishing a partnership between China and Dubai to enhance the stated concept in the emirate of Dubai.
The Secretary General’s statement shed light on march of UAE-China economic relations. He said that China is considered a strategic partner for Dubai and the UAE in the economic development process. “Chinese companies now have considerable experience in various fields, and the DEC seeks to employ these experiences in the implementation of mega development projects launched by the government of Dubai during the past two years, including projects involved in Expo 2020", he added.
